KITCHEN MANAGER/CHEF INSTRUCTOR POSITION
HOURS: F/T. (Monday and one weekend day required).

DESCRIPTION
The Kitchen Manager oversees hiring, training, and customer service-related activities of the cooking class staff and maintains kitchen organization and cleanliness. This is a full-time supervisory position, managing a team of 25-30 class Assistants, Chefs, and Dishwashers. In this role, the ideal candidate will prioritize supporting their team and instilling a positive working environment.
The ideal candidate will aslo be able to fulfill all the requirements of the posted Chef Instructor position and to fill in as instructor for classes as necessary.
Responsibilities
Carries out the hiring, onboarding, and training of cooking class Assistants and Dishwasher staff.
Acts as main point of contact for personnel issues for support staff, overseeing job performance and performance reviews.
Manages storage systems for and inventory of class equipment.
Maintains strict standards for the kitchen organization and cleanliness.
Verifies that sufficient tools are on hand and that all class equipment is in working order.
Oversees class set up and clean up, stepping into support class staff as needed.
Qualifications
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
Superior organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to problem solve.
Exhibit strong initiative and ability to work independently.
Able to consistently provide high level of customer service.
Previous management or HR experience a plus.
Previous experience working in a commercial kitchen.
ServSafe Certification required within first month of hire.
Culinary degree or commensurate culinary education experience.
