FOH ASSISTANT KITCHEN MANAGER
HOURS: P/T. Thursday - Monday, weekends required.
START DATE: Immediate. Position currently open.
DESCRIPTION
The Assistant Kitchen Manager oversees the customer service-related activities of the cooking class staff and maintains kitchen organization and cleanliness. This is a full-time supervisory position, managing a team of 25-30 class Assistants, Chefs, and Dishwashers.
Responsibilities
Assists in managing the hiring, onboarding, and training of cooking class Assistants and Dishwasher staff
Acts as point of contact for personnel issues for support staff
Oversees staff scheduling
Maintains storage systems for and inventory of class equipment
Maintains strict standards for the kitchen organization and cleanliness
Verifies that sufficient tools are on hand and that all class equipment is in working order
Oversees class set up and clean up, stepping into support class staff as needed
Qualifications
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
Superior organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to problem solve
Exhibit strong initiative and ability to work independently
Able to consistently provide high level of customer service
Previous management or HR experience a plus
Previous experience working in a commercial kitchen
ServSafe Certification required within first month of hire
Preferred but not Required
Culinary degree or commensurate culinary education experience.
