SHIFT LEAD POSITION
HOURS: Part-time, flexible hours to cover cooking class shifts. These shifts occur primarily Thursday through Sunday with some Tuesday and Wednesday shifts available on occasion. Shift Leads work in 6-hour shifts between 8:30am and 11pm. One weekend shift per week required.
START DATE: Immediate. Positions currently open
DESCRIPTION: We are seeking enthusiastic Managers-to-be to join our small team of Shift Leads. This group works in tandem with the Kitchen Manager in supporting the customer service-related activities of the cooking class staff and assisting in maintaining kitchen organization and cleanliness. This is a part-time position supporting a larger team of 25-30 class Assistants, Chefs, and Dishwashers. Shift Leads also fill the Class Assistant position as necessary. This is a great launching off point for someone just starting off in their culinary careers who want some entry level supervisory experience.
Responsibilities
Assists in onboarding and training of cooking class Assistants and Dishwasher staff.
Acts as a point of contact for Class Staff during their shift.
Assists in maintaining storage systems for and inventory of class equipment.
Maintains strict standards for the kitchen organization and cleanliness.
Verifies that sufficient tools are on hand and that all class equipment is in working order.
Oversees class set up and clean up, stepping in to support class staff as needed.
Fulfills Class Assistant role as needed.
Qualifications
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
Superior organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to problem solve.
Exhibit strong initiative and ability to work independently.
Able to consistently provide high level of customer service.
Previous supervisory experience.
Previous experience working in a commercial kitchen.
Preferred but not Required
ServSafe Certification a plus.
